Vol. 1: Punto e linea nel piano, articoli teorici, corsi al Bauhaus: La straordinaria carriera artistica di Wassily Kandinsky è proceduta di pari passo con una vasta e tutt'ora poco conosciuta produzione di scritti teorici assolutamente imprescindibili per cogliere la genialità del pittore russo. The Extraordinary artistic career of Wassily Kandinsky has proceeded in hand with a vast and still little-known production of theoretical writings absolutely essential to grasp the brilliance of the Russian painter. The Essays and articles of art criticism contained in these two volumes are with great fidelity the evolution of pictorial research and the personal experience of the artist, from the youth studies made in Moscow to the last years spent in France. In the first volume are presented the writings in which the scholar Kandinsky questioned himself on the fundamental questions of the painting. Among these, two essential moments for the systematization of the theoretical thought of the author: The famous treatise Point and line in the plan, appeared for the first time in 1926 and, above all, the valuable collection of lectures held at the Bauhaus at the turn of the Twenties and Thirty.
