A/React is a formidable collection by the artists known at CTink. Forming part of the 36 Chambers series, the book illustrates their reactions to issues taken from the media and their direct surroundings. It explains the transition from random thoughts and influences to their various ways of expression in paintings, posters, stickers, installations, and it gives insight into their motivations. CTink are best known for their complex, highly detailed, multilayered stencils. Their work is a commentary on everyday life in a superficial and style-oriented environment. The tone varies between sarcastic/ironic and serious. The subjects of their paintings, as well as the range of materials employed, show CTinks love for the absurd and overlooked items. Old wood, bulky waste, and cardboard are among their favorites. Most pieces are painted with a mixture of spray cans, markers, wall paint and pencils.
